Day 2 of the first Test between India and New Zealand was a horrid day for the hosts, with Rohit Sharma-led team bundling out for 46 (their lowest-score at home) after opting to bat first in Bengaluru. Virat Kohli, at No. 3, departed for 0 as his form continues to pose questions. Despite his forgettable outing, Kohli registered a massive record. He is featuring in his 536th international game and, hence, went past former captain MS Dhoni (535) to become India's second-most capped player. The list is led by Sachin Tendulkar (with 664 games).

Talking about the Bengaluru Test, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Day 1 was washed out but Day 2 proved to be a nightmare for India. Despite winning the toss in overcast conditions, India opted to bat first and paid the price by being all-out for 46, with five ducks. At stumps, NZ are 180 for 3, leading by 134 runs, following opener Devon Conway's 91.

Day 3, on Friday (Oct 18), will prove to be a litmus test for India as they trail behind. For NZ, the Tom Latham-led side will look to extend their lead and push India towards an innings defeat.
